{Termination "Black king mated" Mode "ICS" DateLastMove "2008.12.5" Board "5386919"}
1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 f6 4.Nc3 dxc4 5.e3 b5 6.a4 b4 7.Ne4 Qd5 8.Ned2 Ba6
{This is going okay for me so far, since he's stuck using all his pieces to defend
the pawn on c4.}
9.Qc2 Nd7 10.Nxc4 g5
{Once again, this is pawnstorm. He gets to people with his crazy pawn moves, but if you can navigate safely through the opening you can usually come out on top.}
11.Bd3 O-O-O 12.O-O
{Really, I should have played e4, push his queen back and exploit some tactics on the loose king.}
12...Bb7 13.Rd1 g4 14.Ne1
{This move looks a bit less active than Nfd2, but I think I wanted to keep an eye on the g2 square.}
14...a5 15.b3
{Apparently, if I'd just played Bf5, I could have won his queen for a bishop and knight. I briefly looked at it, but couldn't see where the computers logic was coming from. I'll need to look back over this later.}
15...h5 16.Bf5 e6
{I can feel the queen getting hemmed in.}
17.Be4 Qg5 18.Bd3 f5 19.e4 f4 20.g3 e5 21.dxe5 Bc5 22.Bxf4
{The only way to get this guy is to pick off the pawns he makes weak by storming.}
22...Qg6 23.Qb2 Ne7 24.Bc2 Nb6 25.Nd6+ Bxd6 26.exd6 Ng8
{His first big mistake that lets me get a big leg up. He doesn't make a lot of big
mistakes so i'm glad I didn't miss it.}
27.Qxh8
{I missed here that Qe5 was better. He can't retreat the rook because after d7+ no matter what he takes back with Qb8 is mate., so he has to play Rd7 then I can take the rook and he has to play his queen back to the 8th rank to stop me from taking the knight.}
27...Nf6 28.e5
{I'm a fan of this fork.}
28...Rxh8 29.Bxg6 Nfd5 30.Rac1 Nc3 31.Rd4
{This was my big mistake, which he also didn't miss. I think I do an alright job of not loosing my head over it and regaining composure.}
31...Ne2+ 32.Kf1 Nxd4 33.Be3 Ba6+ 34.Bd3 Bxd3+ 35.Nxd3 Nf5
{He really should have played Nxb3 here, breaking the pin with a threat on my rook.}
36.Bxb6 Nd4
{Classic downward spiral. I don't think he ever recovers from this, but you will get to see how terrible I can be at endgames.}
37.Bxd4 Kd7 38.Bb6 h4 39.Bxa5 hxg3 40.hxg3 c5 41.Nxc5+ Ke8 42.d7+ Ke7 43.d8=Q+ Rxd8 44.Bxd8+ Kxd8 45.e6 Ke7 46.a5 Kd6 47.a6 Kc7 48.a7 Kd6 49.a8=Q Ke5 50.e7 Kf6 51.e8=Q Kg5 52.Qf7 Kh6 53.Qh8+ Kg5 54.Qhg7#
{Black king mated}
